About the Shop

The Same Shop Andale Has Always Used

New ownership. Same building, same techs, same standard.

Andale Auto Service has been the shop in this town for years. In September of 2026 it changed hands, and the honest version of that story is worth telling straight rather than dressing up.

Ownership

Who Bought the Shop

Steve Slusser owns Slusser Automotive in Wichita, which he built from nothing. When it opened, he was the only employee, working under the hood, answering the phone, and building a customer base one repair at a time. It grew because of a reputation that's hard to buy and easy to lose, which is that the shop tells people the truth about their vehicles.

Here's the part he'd rather say plainly: he's not from Andale. He has no family history here and no childhood connection to this town. An opportunity to buy this business came up over a year ago, he looked at it, and he took it. In a town this size, everybody already knows that, and pretending otherwise would be a strange way to start.

What he brought with him is a way of running a shop. What he didn't bring is a plan to change one that already worked.

What Stayed Exactly the Same

  • The technicians. Every tech who was working here before the sale is still working here. The people who know your vehicle, who remember what they did on it last time, who you've been handing your keys to for years. Nobody left.
  • The warranty. The 24 month, 24,000 mile warranty carried over untouched. So did the lifetime warranty on brake pads and shoes.
  • Coverage on past work. If the shop repaired something under previous ownership and it's still in the warranty window, that's honored here. A change in ownership isn't your problem.
  • The name. Andale Auto Service. Same as it's been.
  • The location. Still 307 N Main St. Still the middle of town.

Why We Won't Sell You Things You Don't Need

There's a version of this business that makes more money in the short run. You quote the big job, you add the extras, you catch people when they're stressed about a car that won't start and don't know enough to push back. It works, right up until it doesn't.

We'd rather be the shop somebody uses for 20 years than the shop that got one good invoice out of them. So when your vehicle is here, you get what's actually wrong, what it takes to fix, and what it costs. If something can wait, we'll tell you it can wait. If we think you're about to spend money on a vehicle that isn't worth it, you'll hear that too.

That's not a marketing position. It's just cheaper for everybody involved when the shop is honest the first time.

Community

Earning a Place Here

A shop on Main Street in a town of this size isn't only a business. It's part of the fabric of the place, and that isn't something that comes with a purchase agreement.

We're starting where it matters most, which is the school district. All of USD 267, not just the high school. The teams, the programs, and the families who fill the stands on Friday nights. We're proud to support them and we're looking forward to being part of this community for a long time.
